ILR after 2 and a half year DL and 10 years legally in UK

Hello,
First of all, I don't know if this is the right place to ask but I would like some information please. Two and a half years ago I applied for ILR through domestic violence but was given DL because I accepted a caution after a student made allegation against me. I did not know this will impact my settlement application.
Now the 30 months is coming to an end and I would like to know if I should apply for ILR directly or just for an extension. I researched online but did not find an adequate answer.
Thank you and any suggestion is welcomed.
