What do you mean by this?

You can apply within 28 days of reaching 6 years. It does not have to be exactly on the 28th day before.

No, not the period you can apply while till having valid visa, ie. 28 days BEFORE meeting the requirement.

The 28 day 'grace period' is the time HO gave to make a new application once visa has already expired or AR has failed. This has been reduced to 14 days now.

Hi CR001 and all seniors
What rule will be applied if someone is covered under section 3C leave (appeal is still pending) and want to withdraw the appeal? Now if that person will apply 14 days or 28 days before completing 10 years for long residency application?
I know it was 28 days before he can apply according to old rules but with new changes I am bit confused.
Thanks for your help
Kind Regards

The '28 days before becoming eligible and meeting the residence requirement' HAS NOT CHANGED. It is applying for leave AFTER the visa has expired, which you now have to do within 14 days from the date mentioned in the Statement of Change.

Hi All

I just have a question about the 28 days before thing , does it mean if i submit my application 20 days or 14 dys before i completed my 6 yrs i will not qualify for ILR.

I am always confused about the 28 days if for some reason i was outside the country and came back 10 days before can i still apply for ILR or my application will be disqualified.

On my case i will complete my 6 yrs in January 2017 but my visa will expire 2018 so can i submit my application any date regardless of the 28 days rule.

Thanks

Thanks , so am I correct to say I can even apply 7 days before the qualifying time. All along I used to think it has to be exactly 28 days before not knowing that within that 28 days you are eligible to submit your application.
