Hi
can someone help me please. I have lost my son's Biometric card with indefinite leave to remain. we are due to travel on 12th december to visit family in our home country. what I would like to know is can he still travel with his national passport and can I request a temporary visa for him when returning to UK. thanks in advance

What 'temporary' visa? Any visa you apply for outside the UK could invalidate his ILR.

You need to apply for a replacement BRP if you plan to travel.

thanks for the reply. I meant will it be possible to report it lost once I arrive home and apply for the biometric before returning to the UK?

As CR001 advised, probably best to apply for a replacement BRP before travelling.

Alternatively, apply for NTL?

Alternatively, may apply for a returning resident visa from outside the U.K?

Alternatively, try to get approval to travel from a Chief Immigration Officer at the UK port before traveling back to the UK?

I've been checking information on the website and it says I can apply for a single entry back into uk and I will need to apply for a replacement card within a month of returning to the uk. I'm just trying to look at all the options I have as I don't have enough time to wait for a replacement brp as I travel in 10 days. he is thirteen and the card just got lost a few days ago. I had it this whole time and everything is all booked

Have you checked and double checked the area where the card was lost? Did you have it or did the child have it?

It was with the rest of the family passports and travel Itinerary but when I went to do my checks again to make sure everything is there I couldn't find it. I've turned the house upside down and I'm just resting before I do it again, stressed is not even half of how I feel right now. Im actually thinking go just travelling and then reporting it as soon as we arrive at our destination.

it's probably somewhere so obvious and I just can't see it cos I'm in such a state of panic

Suggest calm down, have a cup of tea and then look again, under beds, under sofa and cushions, behind furniture, inbetween other papers maybe, near the computer, in a bag etc.
