Tier2 to ILR absences

I am an academic teaching in a UK university on a Tier 2 Visa. I frequently visit my home country and bring my university work with me during university vacations. The absence is within the 180 days limit but more than my annual leave. I'm actually working from my home country. (1) Would this cause a problem for ILR eligibility? (2) How should I clarify this in the employer's letter? Please advise. Many thanks,

As long as you are within 180 days then you should be fine. On a safe side you can get the letter from the employer which clarify that you were out of the country for work reasons. This should help!

It appears to be personal choice during vacation periods so not necessarily 'work-related' or mandated by 'work'.
To indicate commitment and a continuing intention to settle in UK it could have been appropriate to choose to remain in UK rather than travelling.
