Hi I'm planning to apply for ILR based on 10 year residence but I'm not sure when is the earliest date I'm allowed to submit my application.
For example on 1st Feb this year I will be in the UK for 10 years, that is I entered the UK 1st Feb 2007. And my current visa is valid till end of this year. In this case am I only allowed to submit my application after 1st Feb?

Sorry if this is an obvious question. The reason I'm asking is because I'm also planning to quit my job asap after I get ILR. So I need a bit of estimation on when I can quit.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You could have applied on 3rd or 4th of January already. You are permitted to apply anytime within 28 days before reaching 10 years residence.

Thank you CR001 for the quick reply. I though the 28 day rule is only if my visa already expired/going to expire soon

I'll submit my application asap then. Thanks again.

I'll submit my application asap then. If you can get an appointment

Thanks again.
