ILR Approved - Notification on SMS

Hi All,

Thanks to you all for answering my queries. I got my ILR based on 5 years Tier 2 General approved yesterday. I am currently awaiting the BRP.

Tier 2 guidance states that the sponsor must notify HO within 10 working days through the SMS when the employee switches to another immigration route that does not require a sponsor.

Is it 10 working days from approval letter or 10 working days from issue/receipt of BRP card?

Kind Regards

K

Don't believe this is required for ILR if you got ILR based on Tier 2 G and 5 years residence.

Likely only applicable to switches to PBS dependent, FLR(M), etc type visa which are still time limited.

CR001:
I think the sponsor has to inform that the main application has now switched to ILR. Although, i cant find it in the guidance now, but i have defo read it before.

Surely HO would be aware if ILR applied on the basis of Tier 2 G

See point 15.7.
It is absurd, like many other things.

I absolutely agree. I will ask my HR to update on the SMS.

Recieved my BRP today. That was quick considering I was granted ILR on Thursday last week.

Just a quick question:

My BRP is valid until 31-12-2024 i.e. approx 7 years. I thought that ILR BRPs were valid for 10 years.

Is this correct or should I contact HO about it??

It is correct. 2024 is the next date for upgrades to the biometric processes for EU countries.

One final question. When my sponsor notifies HO that they are not sponsoring me anymore, would my wife's PBS/T2G dependent visa be curtailed?

No. Your wife is not sponsored by your employer.

She can continue on her current visa and extend if necessary till she qualifies for ILR. The immigration rules permit her to do this.
