Hi guys, today the test center did not let me do the test because the name on my BRP did not match the name they have on the system. There was a letter (an initial) missing!!!

Just to give you an example...
The name on the system was: JOHN TOM SMITH
My name on my BRP was this: JOHN TOM Y SMITH

In our part of the world, our full name usually consists of four words/names -- the first name, the middle name (usually our father's name), the grandfather's name and then our surname. The initial (Y) above is for my grandfather's name is it appears on my passport and my records at the Home Office etc.

When I first registered on the website to book my test I could only find 3 boxes for adding my first name, middle name and for last name. There is no fourth box to enter our grandfathers name (or his initial in my case). So I only entered three names as (in the three boxes) as such: John Tom Smith (first, middle and last).

Obviously, I have now lost my booking fee, the travel time (took me over an hour drive) as we don't have a center in our town, and the trouble of finding a car park and all that plus the time it took to revise and prepare.

This is not the problem, the problem is I am not sure how to edit my details in the LITUK system to match my BRP when there is not enough boxes/spaces? If I add the initial (y) in the second box with my middle name, Tom would become Tomy and it would again show as a different name!

Any suggestions?

i assume john is your first name put john in first name section
tom is middle name put tom in middle name section with y example Tom Y in middle name section with gap
smith is surname put smith in surname section

my name similar to that I did it same but name is not initial its full 4 names example john smith York smith
I put it in middle name section smith York

or

you can do like this as well

in surname section fill surname like smith
in first name section fill john tom y with gaps
leave middle name section empty

yo can see when you receive confirmation email your name will be in email john tom y smith

both r ok

Thanks yhm75, I guess this is the only way that I can do it then, and as I said I hope the space is not omitted by the system and "Tom Y" doesn't become "Tomy", then I'll be in trouble again!

2nd when you receive conformation email make sure your complete name is there

The confirmation email only shows the first and the last name. The middle name is not there! This is also on the website. When I go to my account it only shows first and last. I can only see my full name when I click on Edit my Details link! Is this right?

In this situation you fill your name in first name section
Like john tom y in first name section
And smith in surname leave middle name place empty
You will see you full name is there

I can now confirm that if you have 4 names or more, just enter all the middle ones in the middle name box. It worked for me and it showed on the system at the test center, and finally I passed the test. Good luck to everyody else who is preparing.
