ILR if both partners having Tier 2 General VISA

Hi,

My husband is having Tier 2 General VISA, and right now I am having Tier 2 General dependent VISA from August 31, 2015, and we are living in the UK since then. I have an offer to switch to Tier 2 General (Main) as one organisation is sponsoring my COS. I know my ILR time will be reset to zero, if I switch to Tier 2 General Main.

My husband can apply for ILR on September 2020. Can I also apply for ILR with him at the same time (September 2020), if I switch to Tier 2 general Main in May, 2017 from dependent?

Please let me know the situation. It will help me taking a decision.

Thanks,
Nilanjana

No you cannot. You need either 5 years as Dependent or 5 years as main Tier 2 G to qualify for ILR. You cannot combine dependent and main Tier 2G time to make up 5 years for ILR. If you switch in May 2017, you will only qualify for ILR in 2022.
