Hi

I have completed 10 years Long Residency i.e. 10 years legally in the country, however last 3.5 years have been on a Spouse Visa. Am I correct in saying I have to apply using Set(O)?

Also as I understand I do not need to pay NHS Surcharge for an ILR applications

Finally can someone point me to a topic with a list of documents to be submitted.

If you are applying for ILR based on LONG RESIDENCE of 10 years, then you apply on form SET(LR).

The form tells you what documents you have to submit.

Hi All

I was just having a look at the booking an appointment for premium service for my SET (LR) application.
It mentions on the website

"Settlement
If you’re applying for settlement, your premium service appointment must be:
At least 48 hours after your Life In The UK test
Within 28 days of you completing your qualifying period"

Why does it have to be within 28 days? Is this just specific to premium service?
My current visa is valid for another year, so I wasn't in any rush to apply, however the above wording on the website has got me thinking that I need to apply now now now.

You can apply at any time once you meet the residence requirements. The within 28 days is applicable to postal or premium and a concession for everyone to apply for ILR within 28 days of reaching the required residence but it is not mandatory that you do so, you can apply later if you wish but before your visa expires. It is a standard statement, some people only have visas for 5 years.

ah was I reading this the wrong way around then ???

I though it is saying for eg:
My 10 years is 1 Feb 2007 to 31st Jan 2017, so I can apply 1 Feb 2017 onwards
BUT If I wish I can apply say 15th Jan 2017? (concession?)

I thought it meant I need to apply before 28th Feb 2017 or else !!!

It's like within 28 Days of reaching 10 years. (In simple 9 years, 11 Months and 2 Days )If I am not mistaken.
If you have had Entry on 31st January 2007 then you can apply on or after 04 January 2017 heaving valid leave to remain. Seniors Correct me if am wrong.
