ILR - US Citizen and renouncing citizenship?

Hello.

Any ideas what happens when:

A person has ILR, granted under their USA passport. They also hold a EU passport which permits dual nationality and want to transfer the ILR to their EU passport, in order to give up the American passport/citizenship (but still stay living in the UK).

The person does not want to apply for BC at this time - although they are eligible.

Can ILR be transferred from one nationality to another (held by the same person)?

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Get a BRP and then ILR won't be in the American passport. Then renounce. It's not that ILR is 'held' by only the US citizenship - it is held by the person (and all of that person's nationalities). Having the BRP would be advantageous anyway if applying for a new job and acting as proof of right to live indefinitely in the UK (by NHS, landlords etc...).
