I have read several topics in this forum and also googled for this info but it gets more and more confusing so I am posting my queries here.

I have Tier 2 visa currently and My wife and child who was born outside UK are T2 General Dependents.
I will be eligible for ILR on Jan 2020 and my wife and kid can apply on Oct2020.
My question is:

Do I need to apply for ILR for my child when applying for ILR for my wife? I am asking this because I have read that there is no need to apply for ILR for a dependent child and he/she can apply for Citizenship (MN1) as soon as both the parents get their ILR.

That is only for UK born children. You must apply for visas/ILR for non UK born children as normal.

Thanks Zimba.
On this one, After I get my ILR in Jan, will I be able to apply for ILR for my child or I need to wait till my wife gets ILR in Oct?

The child will follow the same timeframe as the mother. So October 2020.
