Living Overseas After ILR

Theoretical question really.

As my South African wife's sponsor, my work may well offer me opps overseas in the next few years- in fact, there's opps there now but I've refused them as my wife (Spousal Visa), will be applying for ILR next October (all being well with LITUK tests etc).

If granted ILR, is there a requirement for her to reside for so many months in the UK i.e if we decided to go overseas because of my work after ILR is granted, would she be required to return to UK to trigger some kind of "returning resident", requirement?

Thanks!

ILR is lost after an absence of 2 or more years. Short visits do not maintain the status.

I would suggest she applies for citizenship as soon as she gets ILR.
