ILR from Tier 2 general

Hello,

I am not going to whine about it... I am here to ask for help.... Oops, did I type this too? :P

I guess my case is one of the simplest cases ever since I stayed with the same company for 5 years under a Tier 2 (General) visa. However, after flipping through the 0-page-think SE(o) form, I am as confused as ... a hipster with an Android phone.

However, I still have some questions that I just can't be sure about.

SOC:
I first obtained the Tier 2 visa under a SOC code that is different from when I extended this visa back in 2015 since I was promoted within the company (with the same employer).
Shall I use SoC I was assigned with when extended my tier 2 visa?

CoS:
I saw templates in this forum quoting CoS number. Do I need a CoS letter at all? It was not mentioned in the SET(O) form at all.

Qualification period:
My Tier 2 visa was first issued on 18 Sep 2012. Does the 28-day-qualification-period allow me to apply for the ILR 28 days earlier than the actual day that I have been under this tier 2 visa for five years? which means I can apply for ILR on 21 August 2017 earliest?

My employer:
I am still working for the same employer that I first entered the Tier 2 visa with. However, the company changed its name and this has been updated in the Sponsorship Management System. Do I need to explain this in my form? If so, how?

It'd be great if you can share your experience with me.

Also, can I phone the Home Office to ask them? Will they pick up the phone? Does it take a life time to actually speak to someone?

Thank you very much!

I will update my application status here and hopefully will be able to help someone else one day!

Thank you!

Current one you are on if that is what your extension was for. Assuming, if not shortage occupation, that the full and proper RLMT was done in 2015 when you got a promotion.

No

Yes. What date did you enter the UK on your first tier 2 general.

No, HO should have a record of this.

The helpline is well known for giving out incorrect information and take no responsibility for it either. We understand it is a 3rd party that runs the call centre

Thank you so much. :) This is very helpful!!
What is RLMT? Do I need to worry about it at all? Or my employer will know about it.
Also, I was already in the UK when I was granted my first Tier 2 General (switched from Post Study Work to Tier 2) and that was 18 Sep 2012.

Thanks!!!

ILR from Tier 2 general - Questions about the form

Hey guys.

I am applying for ILR from Tier 2 (General). I just went through the form and can't figure out what to do with the following questions.

A little help, please!

Question 7.13 Page 28
How long have you lived in the UK?
Shall I put down the first day that I entered the UK or the first day that I was granted my current Tier 2 (general) work permit?

Page 78
Documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules.
I was on Post Study Work visa before being granted the current Tier 2 (general) work permit. Instead of a visa stamp, I was given a biometric residency card which was taken back by the HO when I applied for the Tier 2 General work permit. What document shall I submit to show that I met the immigration rules prior to Tier 2?

Thank you!!
