ILR BRP validity shorter than expected

Hi all,

I got my ILR BRP last week. I was expecting the BRP validity to be 10 years. However, its validity is only 7.5 years approx. I checked with a solicitor and I was informed that this is a norm with HO currently and that the ILR BRPs issues in the recent past do not have validity of 10 years. Not a cause of concern per se, but just want to check if anyone else has had similar experience?

Thanks,
K.

2024 is the cutoff date for all EU countries to update and change the bio details, the same way passport designs change every few years.

Thank you for the explanation.
