ILR appt after 5y on Tier 2, but LongRes application

I have spent just over 5y on Tier 2 work visa and have booked an appointment for ILR in October. At the end of the process together with appt confirmation the system gave me a LONG RESIDENCE application to download and fill out with all the 10y stuff in it. No where in the process was long residence mentioned, I followed the 5 years on Work visa => Settle in the UK root.

Why Long Residence application ?? :?: :|

It all depends on what you selected and what options you were given.

I selected "Product name/service: SET (LR) - Settlement – Leave to Remain". That's what I was supposed to select. And they did create an appointment for me for 'SET (LR) - Settlement – Leave to Remain'.
Then it asks me to proceed to "final tasks": =>
1) "Prepare your application, checklist and supporting document..."
Download and print apt checklist
Download and print the "SET (LR) - Leave to Remain application form" - I hit Download and it turn out to be a an Application for indefinite leave to remain in the UK on the basis of long residence and for a biometric immigration document

2) "Attend your appointment at Premium Service Center....."

This is not correct. On the hotline they give in the Appt confirmation the guy said "I don't know why it gave you the wrong application. It is not my responsibility. You carry the risk of fillingh the wrong application and being rejected" and suggested I call Citizens Advice bureau. I just called the bureau, they re-directed me to some "Ball for immigration detainees" at N4 2LE....

They have already taken almost 3000£ from my account for the appt. I am absolutely shocked. What shall I do? Will they reject me if I show up with the correct application?

Who told you that you need to apply on Set(LR)??

Set(LR) stands for 'Settlement - Long Residence' and not 'Settlement - Leave to Remain'.

You have selected the wrong category. You should have selected Set(O).

As you selected Set(LR), everything else is correct as it based the form on your selection.

I thought LR stood for Leave to Remain

Shall I cancel the appointment? Will they refund the almost 3000 gbp?

I suggest you download the Set(O) form and complete that.

Explain the confusion when you attend your appointment.

You could cancel but refunds can take a while so it would be risky.

I selected wrong type of ILR when I booked my appointment for Premium Service :( It is in 40 days from now. I want to cancel it as i am afraid that i will get a rejection even if i bring the right application.

Could you please let me know if HO will refund any of:
1) circa 500 pound for the appt
2) circa 2300 pounds visa fee

Cancel and book a new appointment.
You automatically get a full refund if you cancel at least 5 working days before your appointment.

Topics merged for you so can see the history and error OP made.

She can complete Set(O) and explain the error in booking. Fee is the same, it should not make a difference.

Any particular reason you don't want to simply complete the correct form and explain your error??

Many members have done this and had now issues on the appointment day.

oh.. I didn't know that many people have made the same mistake. How would I know that?
I was terrified at the idea of ILR rejection PLUS not getting my money back afterwards (all because of a silly mistake). I cancelled it yesterday night

I did say on 8th Sept you could use the correct form and explain (if asked) your error.

Rebook (hopefully dates are still available) once you get your refund.

Yes, but you didn't say that it was a common mistake. And the other person on this forum wrote that I definitely should cancel. So... :(
Thank you anyway! I do appreciate your advice! I should have listened to you.
