I get the SMS from home office saying "Home Office records show that you may not have permission to remain in the UK. Please contact us at [link]"

The thing is I've sent my ILR application last month on August 1 and payment already deducted from my account on August 2. However I haven't got any confirmation letter from UKVI at all regarding my application, but I haven't got any refusal letter either.

I've visited the link and there's an option that they're wrong because I've submitted a new application, however it asked for application reference number, which I don't have, so I choose another option which just said that their information is wrong with the reason I've mentioned in previous paragraph.

I want to call them but their call centre has closed now. Does anybody has similar experience here?

I've done it before for my Tier 2 visa, but I haven't got Biometric letter from UKVI this time for my ILR application.

You should get a letter to enrol your biometrics for ILR. Contact UKVI via appointmentexceptions@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and explain that you have not received the biometric letter yet

OK I've called them this morning and the first lady seems to think the message is a fraud and told me to report it as fraud and ask me to write letter to home office explaining my situation.

Not convinced I called second time and thi time the lady said there's nothing I should worry and I should just ignore the text.

Neither can really give me any info regarding this mysterious SMS or my ILR application status. I've emailed appointmentexceptions@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and explain my situation as well, hopefully they can assist me on this.

Does the link in the text message look genuine? I am asking this because I know several individuals who have experienced similar scams through phone calls where they were ordered to get ready for deportation. Without a genuine link, this looks like another scam.

It seems to be genuine to me because I just checked my email with the same note and they get the date of my visa expiry correct.



I just called UKVI again and they told me to ignore it if I already apply for ILR.
I started to worry now about my ILR application, when I asked to check for status all they can say is that if the payment already taken means the application is already processing.

Can anybody give me any advice?

Their getting the details correct does not mean anything. If your HO data has leaked out to some one, it will be in its entirety. They know everything about your visa and will use these details to convince you of their being genuine. I agree with the response from HO, just ignore them and focus on your ILR application.

Thanks guys, I've written a letter to UKVI anyway to explain my situation, I also enclosed the printed email and show the proof that my ILR application payment already debited from my card.

Fingers crossed everything will be ok and they'll get back to me soon. Will update again once I get reply from them.

Seems like this is a blessings in disguise. I think UKVI somehow missed my application (despite already debiting my money). I just got an email confirmation for my application today and also my biometric letter. Fingers crossed I will get my ILR soon after this.
