Main applicant ILR Partner extending PBS dependant visa

Dear Board

I am in a situation whereby my wife can't apply for settlement as she has not completed the 5 years. Her current Tier 2 expires on the 15th of November and so are my 2 children. I have settled via Tier 2 General route (5 years).

We literally need to extend their current visa for no more than one year. When I was completing an online application, I was asked to enter my current visa status. Despite being settled, there was no option for that. However, they mentioned that I should enter the latest leave to remain I had which was Tier 2 General. I completed the application successfully and was redirected to the health surcharge website. When asked about my date of ILR expiration, which is in 2024, they calculated the health surcharge as 1500 pounds per applicant amounting to a total of 4500 pounds! I guess they calculated it based on the fact that my visa expires in 2024 and disregarded the fact that I chose the less than 3 year option for extending their visa.

Do you have any idea how I can deal with this ordeal!. I know that the health surcharge will be refunded as soon as I apply for the ILR for my family but I can't afford to pay this lump sum!

They need to apply alone. You should leave your details out.

IHS will be £1,800 for 3 applicants.

You cannot extend for 1 year. A PBS dependent extension will be for 3 years, you cannot choose a lesser time.

See post below how this member got it right.
