ILR Applied but passport expired while application is in process..Please Help

Hi All,
I have applied for SET(O) in 2016 and decision is not yet received but my passport has expired last two months ago. I haven't heard anything from HO regarding my passport expiry. Do i need to contact them regarding passport expiry or do i have wait until HO contact me?
Please help me with your valuable inputs.
