Hello,
I just wanted to know if it is possible to apply for ILR without my passport. My passport has expired and it has been submitted to my country's high commission for renewal.
Is it possible to apply with an expired passport?
Please note that the application will be made from within the UK.
Thanks.

What route to ILR are you applying through?
Is it possible to apply with an expired passport?
You need a valid passport as far as I understand.
Please note that the application will be made from within the UK.
Obviously as you cannot apply for ILR outside the UK.

Thanks for your prompt response.
The route will be Tier 2G dependent.

Hello CR001 can you help complete the query?
The application will be based on T2G.

You need a valid passport. I have answered your question so not sure what else you are expecting.

I only asked it for information as it is usually helpful to members in case you ask further questions so that they can reply accordingly.

Hi CR001,
Thanks for all your responses and pardon my persistence.
It says on the form "You must provide your valid passport or (except a PBS applicant)...". I understand this to mean it is not compulsory for a PBS applicant to provide one (please correct me if I am wrong). I am considering not putting a passport at all as it is with my country's High Commission.
If my understanding above is right then, does a T2G dependant application qualify as PBS application?

If you read the sentence correctly, it is 'or (except a PBS applicant), a national identity card as evidence of your identity and nationality'
Yes you are a PBS Dependent, but you still need a passport.
