URGENT - No. of Days Calculation

Hi, I have a situation where I need to travel urgently out of the UK to attend some medical emergency in the family.
I have been keeping an eye on my days outside of UK on older method and found about the recent changes to the immigration rules and have tried to incorporate in my calculations. The screenshot can be found at the below link.

I have two (02) confusions.
- is it the correct way in which I am maintaining the dates?
- my initial leave was granted on 16/March 2017 whereas BRP has an issuance date of 09/March 2017. which date shall I consider for my reference?

Under the revised rules, any 180 day absence in a 12 month period will impact your continuous stay. That means CW can choose any start date and check if you have been away 180 days out of 365 days from that date.
- If your BRP is issued on 9/3, where did you get the grant date from ? Anyway, as mentioned, there is no specific reference date any more

My entry clearance sticker on passport was issued on 16/March 2017 and was valid for one (01) month. whereas the issue date on BRP is 09/March 2017 and valid till 16/July 2020. I don't see the grant date mentioned on any of these documents. where is that mentioned?

It is complex to manage your absence days under the new rules. Keep a rolling total of days outside and whenever it exceeds 180 days, check if the period in which it exceed 180 days is within one year.
Your entry clearance is the date you entered UK. So, your initial grant date is the BRP issue date.

I have some good news. Your calculation is wrong the day you leave and day you arrive are NOT included in count so for example your trip 9-11 Feb 2018 is only one day out of the UK and 20-21 october 2017 zero days (though you have to list it)

as you seem to have made this mistake in every trip you now have 11 days less outside UK

as per my understanding, a day outside of UK is calculated as the day on which you are/were not here @ mid night. hence if I flew on 9th February and returned on 11th February, I was away from UK for 9th and 10th. isn't it?

No. For the total number of days out you DO NOT count day of departure and date of return. You only count WHOLE days out of the UK. In your example, you would only have been absence for ONE day.

If you land at airport late e.g. 11pm try and get through immigration before midnight you just saved a day
TBC there are some people who are on the other side of the equation and want to maximize days outside UK (usually for tax reasons)
