No, it is not.

https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... on/refunds
You won’t get a refund if:

your visa application is successful but you don’t come to the UK
you leave the UK before your visa ends, for example to make a new application
you’re told to leave the UK before your visa expires
you’re applying for indefinite leave to remain

I only got ILR on 14 feb. He is on tier 2 dependent visa. He will complete qualifyng period in 2020. Is it not pbs dependent visa he should switch to keep the time of 2 years spent in uk as my dependent??

Tier 2 dependant can also be called PBS dependant

He can apply next year before his visa expires.

You mention Passport for your son. Is your son UK born or was he born abroad??

My son is born in uk.

I am reading the proposed ihs surchange increase that can go upto £400 a year. If thats the case, is it not worth applying for pbs dependent extension asap and we can get £200 back for 2018. Since we will be paying £600 for 3 years anyway. Please correct me if i am wrong?

You can apply for the PBS dependent visa at any point if you meet the requirements.

As mentioned, it is unlikely you will get '£200 back' if you choose to apply early for an extension.

Good morning,

Any confirmation that the IHS new fees of £400/year will start from April 2018?

As this could cost me an addition fees of £2800 for my dependants,

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Thanks in advance.

I am trying to pay health surcharge for my husband. It is calculating £1400 when we mention my ILR expiry date. If i mention my original tier 2 expiry which in 2019, it calculates £200. Seems like there is no way get this form working. Any advise pls??

Some members have put a date 3 years ahead to get the IHS to calculate correctly.

Hi sabm84,

Not sure why you are trying to apply for your husbands visa now as his PBS dependent visa is valid until 2019. I'm exactly in similar situation. I'm ILR but my wife is Tier 2 dependent or PBS dependent whichever way your want to call it. She extended her PBS dependent in Dec'17/Jan'18. We paid only 600 for IHS. I put 3 years as my VISA expiry (though my ILR is valid until 2024). You just need to pay for 3 years when you extend. Since you got ILR your old Tier 2 VISA is not valid anymore and you shouldnt use that to calculate any charges or validity.

Having said about IHS I again repeat - Tier 2 dependent and PBS dependent are same and he doesn't need to change his VISA now. He can simply renew PBS dependent in 2019 when his leave is about to expire.

If you read the WHOLE thread, you will see the user is trying to avoid the IHS fee increase later this year.

So is it a valid practice to do so? Original expiry date is 25 feb 2019. If we apply now, can we put expiry date as 25 feb 2021??

Also in the main application form its asking for all my tier 2 general visa details though its not valid anymore. I dont think there is any way to avoid it.

If you had no issues than i think we should go ahead and put 2021 as expiry date.

Yes. It is valid practise and I have done that way. And again underpaying IHS will not invalidate your application. You will be asked to pay more if you have paid less. So you go ahead with 3 years as expriy date and make sure you pay 600.

To your next question, if you put yes to Does your partner have indefinite leave to remain or british citizensip, it shouldn't ask any Tier 2 visa details. I did this only in Dec and dont remember giving any details.
