Dear sir,
I have come across too many suggestions from friends, families and some legal professionals regarding an extension application of my child.
*Only child
*Born abroad
*Came to the UK in 2010 (when he was 7)
* Now 14 years old
*Has lived in the UK for more than 7 years.
*Father got British passport (naturalised)
*Mother's ILR application currently under consideration (mother lived in the UK for more than 10 years )
* Last extension of mother and child was on 5 years route on the basis of father's ILR. ( Granted 2.5 years )
Now suggestions are:
+ To apply for another 2.5 years (5 years route )
Or
+ Apply on the basis of 7 years child's rule.
Or
One person in immigration lawyer office even suggested that underage child of a British passport holder father, the child can straight away apply for settlement ( I donot believe this )

The reason why I am asking and mentioning all this here is because of
* Child is in school year 10 class.
Slight late or early application or route would definitely have effect on child's possibility of getting home student fee category.
So please suggest me the best route.
Many many thanks

Perhaps ILR on form SET(F) once mother's ILR is approved.

Can I apply ILR for my son (who is born outside UK) with my application

Hi Simon,
Sorry to jump the queue.
I have got British citizenship and my wife has got ILR last month.
We both were eligible for separate long residency for each.
My child is 14 years old who was born abroad, still is under dependent to me.
Now I have British passport
Wife got ILR.
Child is due for visa renewal.
Is he eligible for ILR now ?
Thank you so much for your time.
