Set (M) application, haven't sent photocopies of documents

Hi,

I'm currently on a 5-year spouse visa, which ends on 18 April. I posted my Set (M) ILR application on 26 March, and the payment has been collected on 28 March. However, I've now realised that I only sent the originals of my passport, marriage certificate etc, and didn't include additional photocopies. I'm planning to phone them on Monday to let them know.

Does anyone know what will happen in this situation? Are they still likely to accept the application? Everything else has been included as requested. Also, if they return the application invalid after my current visa expiry date, will I still able to resubmit it immediately with photocopies included?

it doesn't matter, no worries. you won't be rejected just because you didn't send photocopy. They can only accept or refuse by following protocols, no photocopies of documents definitely not in the list.

Can I ask how you paid e.g cheque, credit card, postal order etc?

Just trying to get an idea on payment processing times as my ILR also expires on 18 April and am sending the application on Monday but was planning to pay by cheque

Thanks

Che

Thanks for the quick reply. This is a relief!

I paid by credit card. Must admit I was amazed how quickly they took the payment.

Thanks for letting me know you paid by CC

I'm sending an application on Monday - not sure whether I'll pay by cheque or CC

Was just a bit worried in case the CC payment was refused for any reason.

Did you tell your CC company you'd be making a large payment to the home office in advance?

You don't need to tell your CC company. As long as you have sufficient fund in your account and your CC not expired, the money will go very quickly. That's what the HO do the best! No worries.

Even your payment refused by any reason, the HO will contact you for sure, they won't start your case before money goes. No worries.

No, I didn't tell them in advance. As cyclina1 says, if you have sufficient funds and the card hasn't expired, you should be ok with a CC payment.

Thanks

Also discovered from my other post that they will use date of posting as date application made - so from a panicked state I can now luxuriate in the choice of paying by cheque or CC!
