I have been on a Tier 2 Visa since Dec 2012. It is now April 2018 and within the 5 years and 4 months, I have only worked less than 4 years approx. 46 months.

I was unemployed thrice (1st time 4 months, 2nd time 12 months and now 2 months). My last job ended Feb 2018 and I now have a job offer to start 1st week in May 2018.

So my questions are:

does my period of unemployment affect my continuous working period?
with my new job, can I apply for a 4th Tier 2 Visa but bearing in mind that it can't be extended beyond Dec 2018?
what are my chances of applying for ILR this year?
