hi all
home office refused my application in feb 2018 because of tax return amendment.
i changed my accountant in 2013 and my new accountant applied for car allownce which was £5200,
because of that my initial income fell below the requirement .
i did not know until 2016.
i amended my tax return because my car was not in use for business purpose for last two years.
i cancelled my car allownce and paid extra tax on remaining amount.
now i am waiting for hearing date.
please i need your honest replies regarding my issue.
thanks

You have provided very limited information to start with,
Have you got AR or Apeal rights?
Did you apply under ILR (Tier 1 G 5YR) route?
And have you managed to give as much information as possible about your amendment in your cover letter and in the questionnaire provided with the application?
Did you declare the discrepency voluntarily with out any Government agency being prompted? (HO or HMRC)
(What information you have given before the decision is vital in representing your application)
If yes you have a good chance of fighting

Becasue you are in Appeal, You have higher chance of representing your case in front of a Judge, Also because you have revealed all the amendment details prior to the application voluntarily, Home office will stuggle to imply 322(5) General grounds for refusal under person of bad character. Because you are not. Make sure your Barrister represents the same thought and proves the Judge about the same, rest assured you should be fine
