Hi!

I have been living in the UK for 8 years and 11 months on Spouse visa currently on settle person dependent FLR (M) visa. My husband applied for a British citizen on 04 Apr 2018. He got his ILR on May 2015 by 10 years stay at Uk route. My spouse visa expired end May 2018( Completion of 2 and half years of FLR (M)

I was wondering if I can still apply for ILR as 5 years of living in the UK as spouse or do I need to first extend my spouse visa, wait a few more months and then apply for ILR?

Also, after I get the ILR, can I apply for citizenship right after? or would I need to wait for some time?

Thanks

Your post isn't clear.

How long have you held your current spouse visa? 2.5 years at the end of this month?

Which category of visa did you hold previously?

You need to complete 5 years on a spouse visa (2.5 x 2.5) before qualifying for ILR, unless you qualify for 10 years legal residence before then.

Assuming you meet all the standard requirements, you will be able to apply for British citizenship immediately after being granted ILR.
