Hi,

I’m currently a university student and am the dependent of my mother on a tier 2 visa. We are due to be eligible for obtaining ILR in September 2020, and I have the option to do an industrial/sandwich placement after the 2nd year of my university studies (one year paid work) from June 2019-June 2020. The salaries range between 18-21k for this per annum. I will complete my degree from September 2020-June 2021 as a result.

My question is would I be allowed to, on a tier 2 dependent visa to do this paid industrial placement before obtaining my ILR? E.g. would being paid that amount of i.e. £18k affect my application?

Thanks in advance

Tier 2 dependent visa gives the right to work.
