Hello everyone ,I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this but I thought my query is more related to this forum .If it’s not supposed to be here ;I apologise .I applied for ILR on 7 January 2018 .I received the approval letter on 18 May 2018.And my brp card came 07/06/2018.Prior to applying for ILR I had discretionary leave to remain from 7 jan 2015-7 January 2018.I applied for ILR via six year discretionary leave to remain .I have a confirmed place to read diagnostic imaging this September and applied for student finance.Student finance have written back to me saying that everything I sent is fine but they need to check if I made an in time home office application for status granted 18/05/2018 for me to qualify for student finance. My big question is ;since I sent my application on 07/jan 2018 ; and my previous leave expired 07/jan 2018.Is this considered an in time application ?

If your previous leave was valid until 07/01/18 and you submitted a valid application on 07/01/18 then this is considered in-time. (See example 2 on page 8 of
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... e-v8_0.pdf)
Do you have a Home Office letter acknowledging your application date?

Hello;thank you for replying ; I haven’t got a home office letter acknowledging my date of application .I received an email on 18/01/18;confirming receipt of application and explaining that it’s take up to six months for me to get a decision from home office .

What about on your approval letter?
My last two grant letters (not ILR) began "On (date of application) you have submitted an application for (type of leave). I am writing to inform you that you have been granted ...".
Don't know what the ILR letter says, though.
Why does student finance care anyway? Did your course begin before the ILR?

Hello, thank you replying again .My decisonnletter only says your application for ILR has been aprroved .nothing about the date of application .My course starts 24 September 2018.I don’t know why the care .I will ring student finance this morning .I have provided them with all the correspondence from home office .I will tell them to contact home office directly .I thought that because I sent my application on the last day of leave to remain ; it was not an
In time application but based on the information you have Given me ; it was an in time application.
