English Language Requirement

Hi Team,

Can someone please guide me - whether my wife needs to go through English language test or not?

She entered UK as PBS dependent in Sept 2013 Since then her VISA was renewed in Mar 2014 and then again in Jan 2018.

Now She is eligible for ILR so want to go for that ASAP.

With regards to her Degree - She studied Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from a reputed university in India.

We got her NARIC certificate which we attached when renewing her VISA in Mar 2015. However that NARIC certificate doesn't state there this degree was taught in English or not. Though that NARIC certificate says this degree is comparable with UK Bachelor degree.

Also the Final degree certificate provided from University is printed in English language though it doesn't specifically say this was taught in English in words anywhere.

Does she need to go through English test or can we avoid it somehow? Please help?

PS: when i applied for my ILR in 2014 then i attached my Point based calculator which was showing i had 50 points and that was proving somehow my degree was taught in english but seems like that calculator is not longer available.

Regards,

The NARIC must certified her degree is taught in english or just not valid. She can either certify her degree is TAUGHT IN ENGLISH or just sit the english test in the UK. Both are 150 GBP anyway.

Thanks for Clarification.

By the way, would she need to apply through SET[ O ] form or SET [ M] form?

When i applied for my ILR from TIER 2 Intra company transfer VISA in 2014, i used SET [ O ]

She has been Tier 2 PBS Dependent VISA until now.

Regards,

There is no salary requirement or maintenance fund requirement, however you must be able to provide evidence that you are able to maintain yourselves financial, so yes, salary slips and bank statements would meet this requirement.
