I just wanted to know my wife is on her10 year partner route does she need to do Life In the UK test when she applies for her ILR after she completes her 10 years.

I know people are exempt from doing the English language test they are on the 10 year route.

Errr, no.

She needs to have passed both the LITUK test AND met the English language requirements for ILR, even after 10 years.

My wife is on an FLR FP 10 year Partner route although we have a British child.

That means she is exempt doing the English Language test.

Your wife isn't exempt as she is applying for ILR, not an extension of her FLR(FP).

The rules for FLR(FP) extension and ILR(LR) are different. The rule you have quoted is for an FLR(FP) extension.

But if your spouse wants to apply for ILR(LR), she needs to pass both an English test (or have a degree taught in English) AND the LITUK test.

As I mentioned earlier, if she applies for ILR(LR) and does not have an English test result in the proof, she will be given an FLR(FP) extension, not ILR.

As an aside, there is no chance of getting past the English test/LITUK requirements for British naturalisation, in case she aspires for that.

Does she do speaking and listening only or she has to do reading and writing.

She needs to do a test with any of the approved test providers and get at least a B1 (5 out of 9 in IELTS).

I believe that the focus of the tests are on speaking and listening, but I could be wrong.

Speaking and listening only. The B1 tests takes 20 minutes. Make sure she states when booking the test that this is IELTS for UKVI.
