JUST 5 YEARS OR 5 YEARS IN SAME VISA CATEGORY FOR ILR?

hello, I have 2 questions. Hope someone can guide me right?

1. I came to UK in May 2014 as tier 2 dependent (My Husband was holding tier 2 visa then)

In October 2014, my husband got ILR and my visa changed to ILR dependent

From October 2014 till now , I am holding same visa category.

Technically I will complete 5 years in UK by 2019 May and should be eligible for ILR.

But I read somewhere that all these 5 years, should be in one visa category. If that is the case, I have to wait until October 2019.

Can someone advise me, please?

2. Also, my husband now got British citizenship, so can I apply for citizenship right after getting ILR (I remember my husband had to wait for 1 year to get passport after ILR).

can someone advise me, please?

Thank you.

Yes, you need 5 years on your current visa to qualify for ILR on Set(M).

Yes you can. It will be an application under Setion 6(2) of the nationality act, which is based on 3 years residence. You will need to meet the requirements for this.
