Does permanent expired?? Need help

I have my permanent residence which is a 10 year route after obtaining indefinitive to remain back in 2007 but due to been away for family reasons I haven't renew my permanent residence can I apply for no time limit or do I have to renew my permanent residence ?

How long have you been away?
When did you leave and when did you return to the UK?

I was away from July 2017 to March 2018 having already my visa renewal date elapse the home office let me through to uk with any problem but I don't remembe if he told me to apply for no time limit or renew the permanent residence....

If you have an ILR or ILE sticker in your passport, then you may apply for
NTL.
If you have an ILR
BRP, then
renew.
