Hello good people. I hope someone is kind enough to offer insight in my case. My son who was born here to us while we were still trying to regularise our status will turn 10 on the day that the second round of Discretionary Leave, that takes us to seven years due to home office delays, expires. My question is now, while we apply for ILR, should i apply for naturalisation for him? Say, if i do not include him in the application for ILR due to the fees, does not already qualify for naturalisation unlike the longer route via ILR, due him having lived his first 10 years here? Has anyone ever had this joke played on them?

Be careful. If he is an overstayer after his tenth birthday, then they may refuse to register him as a British citizen under the Good character requirements.
