I am on Tier 2 General, 5 year route. I got entry clearance on March 2014. I entered the UK on May 2014. Job started on May 2014. I understand that I can apply for an ILR next year within 28 days before the end of my qualification period, not earlier. This would be around February 2019.
However, I have a question about my spouse. She got clearance on 07/09/2015 with a tier 4 student visa. She entered the UK on 24/09/2015 and we live together since then. We got married in the UK on 28/06/2016. She changed her visa to a tier 2-partner visa which was issued on 20/01/2017. Her tier 2-partner visa is valid up to 01/04/2019.
I intend to apply for ILR, as mentioned above. However she cannot apply for ILR-dependant because she is not living in the UK for 5 years. She cannot extend her tier-2 partner visa too, as I will no longer have a visa.
In this case, what are the options?

She CAN extend her tier 2 dependent visa, the rules allow it even if you have ILR based on tier 2

She will get a 3 year extension.
