Hi All,

My name is Shamsher and I am a british citizen. My wife came to UK on spouse visa in 2015 and will be applying for ILR in June 2020. The issue is that the company I am currenly working in is intending to send me to Pakistan to set up a back office there which will take almost 6 - 8 months and during this period I will have to stay there. The time of me leaving for Pakistan is still not confirmed. So I wanted to ask if I leave UK for this period, what impact will it have on my wife's ILR application. Is there any requirement that I have to meet to justify my absence?

A prompt reply to the above will be highly appreciable.

Thank you

Under paragraph E-ECP.2.10. Relationship requirements of Immigration Rules Appendix FM: family members it says:
E-ECP.2.10. The applicant and partner must intend to live together permanently in the UK.
So UKVI may ask you to prove that you are indeed intending to live here together permanently

So will a letter from employer suffice in saying that this was just for a short term and the employee will be based in UK permanently?

Yes, assuming UKVI asks
