ILR 2 year rule

Hi all! Please forgive as I'm completely new to this it wanted some advice!

I got ILR and was living and working in London as an auditor. I was about 6 months from getting my citizenship when my husband (from Trinidad) demanded we go back to live in Trinidad.
After a few years of an abusive and turbulent marriage, we are now divorced and i want to resume my life in the UK. I didn't realise that there was the 2 year rule- I've been away for about 4 years (I thought indefinite leave, literally was indefinite!).

I was wondering what the best course of action is to do to come back to the UK etc

Any advice/links/info would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping it's not to difficult as I really want to return to London!

Thanks, N.

If you have been absent for a number of years, the most feasible option would be to apply under a PBS category, Tier 2 General if you can find a work sponsor, or a Tier 4 student visa if you can afford study fees of around £10,000 p.a
The Immigration Rules have tightened significantly since they were amended in July 2012
