Tier 2 maternity leave with plans for ILR

My partner and myself are planning to have kids within 5 years of my tier 2 (General) visa.
My understanding is that I am allowed 52 weeks of maternity leave. (paid). Would it cause any problems when it comes to applying for ILR? Do I have to get any documents prepared for?
I don't know to get to the ILR stage and worried about the paperwork, etc at that point when my family is already built up.
