The eligibility depends on the visa route. Not all visa routes is from date of entry!!

It counts from date of entry to the UK. She can apply no sooner than within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the entry date.

The earliest date is 5 years ( minus 28 days )of being in UK
I assume the last date would be the day the current visa runs out..( just before becoming a potential overstayer)
can we ask a question ...
why do people try to make an application towards the very very beginning of this window ? with the risk of applying a bit too early because of potential miscalculations ?
what are the disadvantages/ negatives of applying towards the end of the window ( obviously before the current visa expires ?
there is no need to get in there at the most earliest hour ? surely you can wait a few days as a good measure .

This is not a general discussion topic on why people do things or not when they apply. Please ask such questions in your own topic if you want but please don't tag it onto another members thread and take it off topic.
When members choose to apply in the '28 days window' is entirely up to them and I certainly cannot read their minds to understand why some apply at day one of the window or the 28 day concession.
