ESOL ENTRY-3

Hi All

Thanks to all of your suggestions i have received my UK passport today.

I have a small doubt i will be applying for my wife ILR in January

For English qualification She has a ESOL entry-3 qualification issued by University Of Cambridge conducted in India 2008. now there is no expiry date for that certificate, can she use this certificate as English requirement.

This is not mentioned on the list of approved tests in UKVI so i am confused.

can anyone of you let me know if this is sufficient or anyone of you already used it to get the visa.

Thank you

She needs to sit for SELT if UKVI does not accept the test center anymore.

HEllo All

I am planning to apply for settlement for my wife and i have quite a few questions please help me with them.

I got my britsh citizenship last october, my wife had to apply for a tier-1 extesion at time as she was not in the UK for years. Now she stayed over 5 years she is eligible for settlemt.. but i have following doubts

1. What application do i need to use ILR ot Flr?

2.Now same day service is closed, the new service any idea how much thy charge for the priority service and in general time taken for the decision?

3. I read the in the forum that they check the copies and return back the originals, so will they be returning both the passport and BRP as still she has 8 months visa on it we may need to travel in the meantime.

4.Also i heard that my wife is eligible to apply for citizenship as soon as she gets indefinete under some kind of rule? please let me know if thats correct and is the citizenship process normal for it.

Thank you
will be waiting for your valuable suggestions

Please keep your wife ILR questions in ONE topic (this one).

1. A PBS Dependent applies for ILR on form SET(O).

2. Just over £3000 and it can take a couple of days up to a couple of weeks.

3. Yes. Ideally she should not travel out of the UK as this will likely result in her ILR application being withdrawn.

4. Yes. As the spouse of a British citizen, she does not have to wait 12 months on ILR. It will be based on 3 years residence and she must meet all the requirements.

Stop listening to your 'friends'. If she holds a PBS Dependent visa for the 5 years qualifying period, she can ONLY apply on Set (O). She doesn't qualify to apply on Set (M) because she does NOT hold a spouse settlement visa. You becoming British doesn't suddenly or automatically change her visa CATEGORY.

Yes!

Click on the links (clue is words "don't" and "shout").

Posting in Capitals is equivalent to shouting on the Internet!!

I am planning to send the application next week and her indian passport is about to expire in 4 weeks time, was wondering is it necessary to have a valid passport during the process if decesion. As we will apply for naturalisation as soon as she gets ILR and will need to cancel indian passport anyway.

please let me know the best course of action.

Thank you

Dear Gurus

I have a small doubt in the the SET(o) Application for dependent.

I currently hold british passport and applying ILR for my wife who now has completed 5 years in UK. while filling the application forn it never asked for absences outside the UK for last 5 years and also last 5 years adresess and there is no mention of co-habitation. I am really confused can you please let me know if i missed sometimng and also please let me know if i need to provide any documentation for these.

Thank you very much in advance

There is no absence limit for PBS dependents with visas issued BEFORE 11th January 2018.

The online process won't ask for Cohab docs but HO might. Best to submit them.

Once you apply you do get a payment confirmation email. Also, you can a HO Case ID email in a couple of days.

Having said that, not everyone receives that. There seems to be a technical system error that does not push through the emails.

Did you get the payment confirmation email? Once you submit your application the PDF form will also have a unique application reference number on the top. If you have submitted the biometrics and have one of the above dont worry.
