Spouse British Passport - Original or copy

Hi,
I have just submitted my wife's ILR SET (M) application under British spouse category. I am using existing standard postal service.
In the document checklist, one of the mandatory documents is my passport. I think it should be a copy of my passport with all the pages. But the evidence notes says a generic statement as passports must be original.
I am not sure if this statement is for applicant or for spouse passport also.
Anyone can advise who has used existing service recently whether they sent original spouse passport or copy?
