Ancestry to Indefinite Leave - what is 5 years?

Hello
My daughter and I have ancestral visas that were granted in July 2014. We arrived in the UK in September 2014 and have remained here since (apart from short holidays).
My questions is:
Our visas expire in July 2019, but our 5 year anniversary of arrival here is September 2019.
Can we apply for Indefinite Leave before the expiration of visa - even though we will not have been here the full 5 years (we will be a couple of months short).
I really hope so! I don't want to pay for another two lots of visas! Argh...
thanks to you all,
Sunny x

Great, thank you.
How long before the visa expires should I lodge it by:
a) post
b) in person - ie apply for interview time
Also, Can I apply for naturalisation soon after? (I'm on an ancestral visa, however I'm married to a Brit of 15 years)
thanks again

Within 28 days before, whether by post or in person.
In person is not an 'interview'.
Yes once you have ILR you can apply for citizenship provided you meet all the requirements for spouse of BC 3 years residence application.

When can I apply ILR?

Hello,
A few questions I'd be grateful to be answered please:
1My daughter and I were issued our Ancestral visas on 20.07.2014
Entered UK 12.08.14
Visas expire 20.07.2014
Should I apply 28 days before visa expires (although I won't quite have the full 5 years as this started 12.08.14?)
Is there still an express system?
Is there somewhere online that shows the entire application so I know what info I need to provide? (The online application only lets me click through once I start.)
Can we apply for Citizenship as soon as we get ILR or do we need to wait a further 12 months?
Thanks for reading,
SS

Most of your questions were answered in your previous posts from April.
Is there still an express system?
No there is no 'same day decision in person' service any longer. New service links below.

Ah, thank you! I was trying to find that post, but couldn't.
Thanks again, just one question relating to documents required for application?

The online form process should give you a list of what is required.

It doesn't until you start... and you're not meant to start until 28 days before...
I'm just trying to plan ahead...

ILR. Application with or without children

I will apply soon for ILR (after 5 years ancestry visa) with my child born in Australia. I assume I have to apply for the child's ILR too. Then both apply for citizenship. Please tell me if this is not correct! Would save a lot of money if it is.

Your child requires ILR as she was born abroad and can only apply for citizenship once you apply or are already British.

I've just read the updated version of calculating continous period published 29 March 2019
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... -v18.0.pdf
And I think that I'm going to exceed the 180 days out of the country as previously I had not counted the days between the visa being granted and entering UK for first time:
Visa Granted: 20 July 2014
Entered UK: 12 August 2014
GAP = 23 Days
Left UK: 6 September 2014 (to sell property / finish employement in Aust)
Entered UK: February 2015
Gap = 170 Days
Since then been staying in UK with only a week or two out in each year.
Q: Are the 23 days counted as absence?
Q: if yes, am I over the 180 days rolling in 12 months - or is this calculated by calendar month?
I'm really panicking about this, as if I don't qualify I'll have extend my ancestral visa for myself and my daughter - adding another £6k to our application.
Thanks
