Hello everyone, need a suggestion from you all. I am going to apply ILR on long residence route. Currently I hold tier 4 visa and my wife is on dependant visa. My question is can my wife can stay on same visa( tier 4 dependant visa) after I switch to IlR or she need to change her visa status as well. Your kind advice will be generously appreciated. Thank you

She needs to change her visa which will reset her clock to zero for ilr based on 5 years residence. She should also not travel out if the UK until she has switched visas.
She does not have to change at the same time as you though.

Thank you for your answer. My wife can apply for ILR on long residence based route in next 1.5 years. Is it possible she can stay on same visa tier 4 dependent until she apply a for ilr ? Or are there any risk staying at same visa status? Her current visa expires on 2021. I would thankful to all for answering my queries.

There is a potential risk that her visa is curtailed. But if she has no travel plans, should might be ok to stay on her current visa.
