Points on driving license

I am applying for ILR on five year route and about 10 months ago i was stopped by police randomly and one of my car tyres was below threading limit and they gave me penalty and points on my license.
they sent a letter home and asked to send my license to be endorsed for points.
will this need to be disclosed on my visa ? and will it have any effect on me getting ILR ?
