Hong Kong Nationality, BNO passport and Tier 2 visa

Hello all,

It is great to see such a resourceful discussion forum. So I have a question about ILR, I am currently holding a Tier 2 Visa for around 11 months, I am a Chinese (Hong Kong) nationality and holding a BNO passport. I am unsure if there is any sort of benefit for BNO holder to acquire the ILR sooner? So I don't have to stay under Tier 2 for 5 years?

Many thanks!
Ndrew

British Nationals (Overseas) do not get any special treatment under the rules for ILR. You are subject to immigration control like others and can only acquire ILR when eligible under a visa category like Tier 2 as per rules
