Hi Everyone,

I am new to the site so please bare with me if I am asking something that is very obvious or already answered somewhere. I tried searching in here but could not find an answer.

I am a refugee I have been granted refugee status July last year and I have applied and received my travel document :) it was very helpful for me to read through this forum throughout that journey so thank you.

My question is , how long can I stay outside the UK in any given year and generally in the 5 years so it does not affect my ILR application ?

I work in the emergency response and protection of civilians sector previously with the UN before coming to the UK. If I was offered a job or short secondment to respond to a humanitarian crises with a humanitarian agency in any of the countries in need that is not my country of origin like South Sudan or Syria as an example. Can I still take that role for like six months one year ( while coming back to the UJ regularly ) or will that effect my status, I think I read somewhere that if the person is responding to an international crises then it does not count towards their time outside the country ( not sure if this is applicable to refugees or only people on other types of status )

Thaaaaaaaak you,

Soo

The immigration rules part 11 do not mention any absence requirements for people granted under refugee/humanitarian route when the apply for ILR.
