Hi all,
Thanks for your help in advance.

what happens when:

Case 1:
- A family is 2 years into their Tier 2 leave to remain (visa) and
- dependent, who is in health care field got a job.

1. Does the dependent have to appear for visa processing again
2. Once approved, do they have to wait 5 years from the date of visa approval for applying ILR or
Given that their status has been legal for continuous 5 years
2 years as Tier 2 dependent
3 years as Tier 2 main applicant
can they still qualify for applying a ILR?

Case 2:
In the above scenario if what happens
- if the main applicant changes their status as tier 2 dependent?
Given that their status has been legal for continuous 5 years
2 years as Tier 2 main applicant
3 years as Tier 2 dependent
Can they qualify to apply for ILR at the end of 5 years?

Kind regards

You cannot combine time on PBS dependent and pbs main visa holder to make up 5 years for ilr. You need 5 years as PBS dependent OR 5 years as PBS main application to qualify for ilr. The two visas fall under different immigration rules.
