Suspension of Super Priority Service for ILR (LR) application

Hi all
Hoping people can offer some advice/experience. I'm really confused and set back by this process.
I've been putting together my application for my ILR (long residence 10 years) with an immigration lawyer and he's just informed me that as of 2 October, the super priority service was suspended due to lack of staff/resources. This would mean I would have to go for a standard application and he informs me, I'd be unable to travel outside the UK until the application was processed (3-6 months).
Has anyone encountered this problem with being unable to access the super priority service? Does anyone know if/when it will be resumed?
Has anyone been able to access the super priority service since 2 October?
In people's experience, does the standard application actually take 3-6 months and are there ways to expedite it?
Thanks everyone
