Hi,

my previous employer, which i worked with from Mar-2015 to Aug-2017, declined to provide absence from UK letter citing company policy for exit employees.

During this period, once i had total absences from UK of 38 days in year 2016; rest all other absences are within 30 days.

As i need to apply for my ILR, what supporting evidences i shall provide in order not to get my application rejected due to this.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Thanks Zimba for your kind response.

Along with the cover letter, do i need to submit any or all of these

1) list of absences during the stated period
2) Passport stamps (exit and entries)
3) email received from previous employer

Anything else is required to submit?

Many thanks

Submit these elements and hope for the best.

Many employers won't provide any HR service once you leave the company. They all provide a reference service where they can confirm that you hold a position with them from X to Z but they won't fulfil any other request beyond that.

It's important to collect all documents you need for immigration before you leave an employer.

Thanks Zerubbabel for your kind advise. I totally agree with you. As a hindsight, i too think i should have taken this letter before i left my previous company.

From your knowledge, how critical is the absence letter from previous employer - has ILR application been denied on this ground given no violation of required rules.

Many thanks
