Hi all,
I am sorry to add this question to this thread but I think it could be related.
My contract has expired at the end of May and I am eligible for ILR after 5 years on Tier 2 since April. I have all required documents BUT I have no job now.

My question is, if it is possible to apply for ILR without current job? Due the current situation is very challenging to get one.
Thanks

When does your visa expire?

No you cannot. The requirement for ILR as a Tier 2 visa holder is to be employed by your sponsored and be required 'for the foreseeable future' which needs to be included in the employer letter you have to submit which is mandatory.

You will need to find another sponsor and apply for a new tier 2 general visa.

When does your visa expire?

It will expire 14th of June but government have extended all visas until end of July if I am correct.
Thanks

Not all as far as I understand. It is for those who are unable to leave the UK and you have to apply for this extension.

Thanks for your prompt help.

It has been mentioned in the extension form that
'If you already have leave in the UK and planned to extend your leave when it expires, you do not need to complete this form. Please continue to apply using the appropriate online application form.'

So, I think I have to extend my visa if I am going to leave the country! Please see below as well:

If you’re applying to stay in the UK long-term
You can apply from the UK to switch to a long-term UK visa until 31 July 2020 if your leave expires between 24 January 2020 and 31 July 2020. This includes applications where you would usually need to apply for a visa from your home country.
You’ll need to meet the requirements of the route you are applying for and pay the UK application fee.
This includes those whose leave has already been extended to 31 July 2020.
You can apply online. The terms of your leave will remain the same until your application is decided.

Well you can't do that if you don't have a Tier 2 sponsor. You cannot apply for a Tier 2 General extension OR for ILR if you don't have a sponsor or are unemployed.

This refers to those who cannot normally apply within the UK to change visas, i.e Tier 2 Dependent applying for Tier 2 General, and would normally have to apply from home country. It doesn't apply to your circumstances.

I have another question, my son was born in UK can I include him in my ILR application?

Shall I register him as British citizen at the same time of my ILR application?

Thanks

You do not qualify for ILR as it was explained to you. You are expected to leave the UK before your visa expires :!:

Child can only be registered when you get ILR. Such a child does not need to be added to the ILR application. The question is how will you qualify for ILR under Tier 2 ?
