ILR Set (O) - missing ancestry documents

Hi all

I have just applied for my ILR after being in the UK on an Ancestry visa (South African citizen). However, I have an issue. My mother, who was the line of decent that I used for ancestry, passed away two years ago and we cannot find her birth certificate and her marriage certificate. I do have the other necessary documents.

I have contacted a number of agents in South Africa that specialize in sourcing birth and marriage certificates but they have quoted me lead times of 8-12 weeks. The issue is that I have to book my appointment to hand in my documents in the next two months.

If I have not received the certificates by the time I have to go to the appointment will they reject my application? Is there any way that I can submit documents late, after the appointment?

Many thanks.

Phil

Your documents need to be digitally uploaded before your appointment, no originals are submitted or sent to ukvi.

If you have scanned copies of these missing documents, then upload them.

Thanks for the reply. I do not have scanned copies of the documents as I don't have the documents. I will most likely only receive them after the appointment date.
